Equipping Mountain Rescue Teams with Specialised 4×4 and Winch Training
Beyond Driving is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) as their chosen supplier of driver training. Over the next 12 to 18 months, we will be working closely with MREW to conduct phased training in both 4×4 and winch operations. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our mission to empower organizations with specialised training.
MREW, representing Mountain Rescue teams across England and Wales, plays a crucial role in providing life-saving assistance in challenging and often remote environments. Their dedicated volunteers are at the forefront of search and rescue missions, and ensuring their proficiency in 4×4 and winch operations is a top priority.
Our partnership with MREW encompasses a comprehensive training plan that will unfold over the next year and a half. The training will focus on two key areas: 4×4 vehicle operation and winch operation, both of which are vital in the context of mountain rescue.
Mountain Rescue teams are distributed across eight geographical areas, including the Lake District, Mid Pennine, North East, Peak District, Peninsula, Yorkshire Dales, North Wales, and South Wales. Additionally, two associate teams are based in southwest England. Our training will be tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by each of these teams.
Beyond Driving is committed to ensuring that MREW teams are well-prepared to operate in mountainous and remote terrains. This training not only enhances their driving skills but also equips them with the necessary expertise to perform winch operations effectively and safely.
As we embark on this exciting journey with MREW, we remain dedicated to maintaining the highest industry standards in training. Our aim is to empower mountain rescue volunteers with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their critical roles.
Stay tuned for updates on this partnership and the training progress as we work with MREW to elevate training standards and promote safety. We are honored to contribute to the life-saving efforts of MREW and look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have on mountain rescue operations.
