Our Qualsafe Assured Bespoke HART Operations Polaris and Winch Instructors Course is designed exclusively for Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) and specialist units who require instructor-level competence in Polaris off-road vehicle operations and complex winch recovery techniques. This tailored course equips experienced operators with the instructional skills and technical knowledge to deliver high-quality, in-house training to colleagues working in high-risk and remote environments.

The course integrates the core competencies of off-road Polaris UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) handling with advanced vehicle recovery using a range of winching equipment. Training is delivered using the actual kit and vehicles used by HART teams, ensuring real-world applicability and operational relevance.

As with all Beyond Driving programmes, the course is bespoke—shaped around your team’s operational demands, equipment, terrain and strategic training goals.

Delivery

This is a 4 to 5-day instructor course, suitable for up to 3 instructor candidates per trainer. Training is delivered on-site using your organisation’s Polaris vehicles and winching systems, or at one of our regional training centres if required. All training is delivered face-to-face by Qualsafe-certified instructors, combining theory, scenario-based practical exercises, and peer-led delivery practice to ensure your new instructors are confident and competent in training others.

Aimed At

This course is designed for qualified HART team members, operational leads, and training officers who are responsible for delivering internal instruction in off-road UTV handling and winching procedures. It is particularly suited to those working in emergency services and requiring a consistent, structured approach to team training and operational safety.

Our Trailer Course
Instructors

Though there is no requirement in law to use DVSA ADIs for B+E training, our instructors are qualifies driving instructors, who are also LANTRA, BORDA and Qualsafe certified 4x4 & trailer trainers. Because there is an occupational road risk issue inherent in all trailer use (with elements included in the off-road courses). This provides both us and you with an added level of expertise to draw upon, as well as safety in the knowledge that the training has been conducted to the highest level.
