Our 4×4 and Winch Instructor Training Course is ideal for organisations looking to develop internal training capacity, ensuring consistent, compliant and safe operation of off-road vehicles and recovery equipment. The course is fully Qualsafe Assured, and is suitable for:
Emergency services and fire & rescue teams

By the end of the course, successful candidates will be qualified to deliver their own in-house training to operator level, helping raise standards across your team while supporting operational efficiency and safety.
Delivery
This is typically a 4-day training course, suitable for up to 3 instructor candidates per instructor. It is delivered face-to-face by Qualsafe certified instructors, either on your premises using your vehicles and equipment, or at one of our regional training centres. The course includes a blend of theory, practical instruction, peer teaching, and assessed delivery, ensuring that successful candidates are prepared to lead safe, engaging and compliant training sessions of their own.
Aimed At
This course is aimed at organisations looking to develop in-house training capacity for staff working with off-road vehicles and winching equipment. Ideal for emergency services, utility providers, and industrial teams, the course equips future trainers with the tools to deliver structured, compliant and safe training to their teams—minimising risks, boosting operational resilience, and ensuring legal compliance.

The force are often called to search rough terrain and often in poor visibility. Beyond Driving always plan and tailor our quad bike and ATV training around the terrain we work with and the around the existing skills of squad.
Your 4x4 & Winch Instructor
All of our instructors have many years of off-roading experience. They have a wide knowledge of transmissions, differentials and other fitted equipment on a variety of different vehicles, not linked to a single manufacturer. All hold first-aid and H&S qualifications, up to Nebosh NGC.
Finally they are QUALSAFE certified and have Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor registration.
