Off-Road Training – LANTRA 1 day
The LANTRA 1 day course is suitable for either professional operators who have already undertaken some off-road training, such as one of our PUWER compliance or 4×4 familiarisation courses and wish to gain more experience in using their 4×4 off-road, or require re-certification. Please contact us to confirm the suitability of this course for your candidates.
Cost: From £175-£500/candidate, depending on number of candidates and venue.
Duration: 1 day
Venue: One of our LANTRA approved 4×4 sites:
- Cumbria (10 minutes from the M6)
- Central Scotland (10 minutes from the M90)
- Ayrshire (30 minutes from Glasgow Airport)
- Wales (40 minutes from Cardiff)
- We also have several other venues available across the whole of the UK.
Certification: LANTRA certification as a professional 4×4 off road driver.

Our experienced user course is also available to professional users who can provide us with proof of experience and previous training (LANTRA or BORDA and other certifications such as NPTC, City And Guilds and RoSPA may be accepted. If operators have extensive experience and a solid working knowledge of 4x4s and their transmission and safety systems, we may consider them for the Experienced Operator course without prior training.).
Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), anyone who is provided with specialist equipment (4×4 vehicles come under this title) must be trained in their use. Our training is usually undertaken at our base in Cumbria, though we may be able to do training elsewhere, subject to our assessment of the site.
The one day course is not a money saving option for professional drivers – if a delegate needs the full training we will recommend the 2 day course, and will not certificate the course until they are able to work to the required standard in all certification criteria.
If your drivers have never undertaken training before, we recommend the LANTRA 2 Day Course.
