Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving - SAFED for Vans

SAFED Van Driver Training started in the heavy goods arena, but with its success, the government recently widened its remit to include subsidised training for smaller commercial vehicle drivers. The goverment funding means that van driver training grants are available for most companies to help with the cost of training.

SAFED courses have a proven track record in reducing fuel consumption, improving vehicle sympathy and reducing risk. When drivers take on board the simple driving techniques they can save on average 10% on your fuel costs. If your drivers continue to drive in the safer more efficient manner then in the longer term you will generate substantial savings on maintenance and insurance.

SAFED Van Driver Training also fulfils Health and Safety requirements for training your staff, so you will be on firmer legal ground under recently introduced corporate liability laws.

The training can be given flexibly, from one trainee for half a day, to training drivers in pairs over a full day.

Accreditation: SAFED Certificated.

Duration: 1 driver - 1/2 day, more drivers can double up on training. To get the most from the training we suggest 2 drivers share a day.

Venue: We can arrange a venue including meals and refreshments, or we can visit you at your workplace.

Trainer: Your trainer will be a Fleet Registered DSA ADI who has been trained by SAFED.

Cost: £175/delegate, though dependent on subsidies this may be reduced (currently £100 for small companies).

The new SAFED In-House Assessor Course has just been announced, and we are able to offer this to larger companies who want their own In-House trainers.

An assessor is not a trainer, but is a member of staff who is trained to be able to identify those employees who need further training.

This means that with an in-house assessor, you can prioritise who recieves training, ensuring that you get the most from your training budget.

Currently the cost for this scheme is very low due to some very serious funding from the Transport Office, and there are only a limited number of places available. Once the training is available commercially this course will cost a lot more, so get in quick!
