UK-wide 4×4 and Off-Road Training
We are now proud to announce that we have LANTRA Awards approved 4×4 training venues across England, Scotland and Wales, with fully qualified DSA ADI’s who are also LANTRA Awards trainers available at all of these sites.
For many years, off-road training has had a blind eye turned to it, but clarification was provided in 2006 regarding the Road Safety Act 2006 (Schedule 6). This means that all professional training undertaken in motor cars (category B vehicles according to the DSA) including 4×4′s must be carried out by DSA registered instructors (ADIs). If the instructor is not registered with the DSA then the training is being carried out illegally.
There are many issues regarding H&S and insurance and indemnity for trainers who are not registered and companies who use them for training may find that the courses which they have paid for do not provide the required audit trails in the case of a H&S inspection.
Though many training providers are still flouting this legislation (with some still quoting out of date and misleading exemptions), Beyond Driving has been working hard to find enough LANTRA qualfied ADIs to carry out this training across the UK.
