Driving Tests for the over 70’s?

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) have thrown their political weight into the ring again, and after suggesting that youngsters should wait longer before taking their test, they are now suggesting that oldies should have to be “tested” when they reach the age of 70.

Currently there is no recommendation for drivers to be retested at any age, despite calls by many in the driver training industry. Even simple suggestions like eye tests are not being carried out, allowing potentially dangerous drivers to continue using the roads.
