Displaying your ADI badge
Photo in or out?
This may simply be a rumour, but we have it from (normally!) reliable sources that we will soon be requested by the DSA to turn our ADI (and PDI) badges so that the photograph is visible from the outside of the vehicle.
Quite why this should be we’re not sure and we have heard several female ADIs voicing worries that their photo would be visible on their car. Apparently this was in the 2005 Motor Cars (Driving Instruction) Regulations.
We’ll keep you updated.
Update: 11.05.07: A few quick calls to the DSA have cleared this little nugget up.
Someone somewhere got the pics mixed up in the regulations, and a few SE’s decided to start implementing the (mixed up) rules.
This has been cleared up, and the old method is the correct one. The ADI badge should be displayed with the octagon (or traingle) displayed outwards.
